A friend of mine, Lori, in Hull, GA lost 2 Congo African Grey's the morning of August 3rd. One is a male who was wild caught and has no band. The other is a female captive born who does have a band. They were heard that evening and the male was spotted in a tree.
If you see them, please contact Dee's Haven immediately at

The female might come to someone but the male won't. Lori is devistated about the loss of her birds.

UPDATE: The male has come home. The female is still missing. There is a reward offered for information leading to her safe return.
Owen is a Congo African Grey that has been missing since June 13, 2005. Owen is banded on his right leg with a silver colored bank bearing the inscription "FL" and "ABR00" followed by 3 numbers.
Owen accidently flew out the kitchen door. He is fully flighted and could be anywhere by now.
He says hello in several different voices and says bye and blows kisses, says Sara, Peep, Pepper, Tiggers, Kiwi, Nandi, Doug and Wanna Hop Up. He laughs in a female voice.
There is a reward offered for Owen's return and his family misses him a great deal. They have been searching since Owen flew away and would just love to have him back home with them.
Owen is from Northern Virginia. We are posting this because Grey's have been found hundred's of miles from home. There was a Grey in October 2008 that flew from his home in Northern Michigan and was found in March 2009 in Nevada.
If you have any information on Owen, please contact Dee's Haven at 706-599-5631 or 706-599-5634.

Below is a letter from a lady, Stephanie, who is searching for her Military Macaw:
Hi,
I post this every 6 months in hopes of finding my beloved BOBO.
2 yrs ago I had to be in Emory Hospital for an emergency situation concerning my illness,( I had an intestional blockage that required emergency surgery, Im fine now) because my family was constantly there with me "Friends of the family" each babysat my parrots at their home until I could make it back to my home. All were returned except one Bobo, with the explananiton that "she died" of a freak accident. I was grief stricken but could accept the fact until I heard from other friends of theirs that she had been sold. I have been looking for her ever since. Bobo is a Military Macaw that would be 14 yrs old now, I handfed and weaned her and used her and her companion in educational and pet therapy programs. Bobo is a DNA sexed female, banded (however bands can be easily removed) If you think you have my baby, we will need to set up a meeting as I'm POSITIVE she would remember us (as parrots are very intelligent and have memories like an elephant HAHA) ,her family and her companion a harlequin Macaw ( which we would bring with us) Bobo did talk a bit garbled but she could say mom pretty well, ring like the phone, say several our dogs name ,bark and meow. She was in perfect health and feather. If I feel this is my bird after meeting Im more than willing to pay an adoption fee to get her back. She may have been sold by persons named robert and/or his GF Miranda from the Athens area ( I can provide their last names if needed. I have just figured out how to scan pics of her, although it would be hard to identify by pic alone as they all look alike :(
PLEASE CL HELP ME FIND MY BABY, I STILL CRY EVERYTIME I SEE AN AD FOR A MILITARY AND WONDER IF ITS HER !! TO BOBO I WILL NEVER STOP LOOKING FOR YOU BECASUE IN MY HEART I KNOW YOU HAVE NOT LEFT THIS EARTH, MOMS JUST KNOW THIS SORT OF THING and the story from the person that babysat her just did not add up, not to mention that the cage he returned to me was NOT her cage. A VERY HEARTFELT Thank You for the people that have emailed me about the other ad for a miitary for sale, I have followed up on that however BOBO is not a Bolivian Military, which is a sub species of the military macaw. WITH HEARTFELT THANKS, STEPH
